This long-time veteran of Newark and New Jersey business and public affairs advises our clients on compliance and ethics, dispute resolution, leadership development, and diversity and inclusion. He came to Taft after serving as Prudential Financial’s vice president and chief ethics officer, following a distinguished legal career and handling important government positions at the state and federal levels. He was deputy solicitor at the U.S. Labor Department; deputy commissioner, New Jersey Department of Labor; New Jersey administrative law judge; assistant counsel, U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee; and assistant dean, Rutgers School of Law. Oliver has served on many state and national boards, including: Rutgers University-Newark Advisory Board; New Jersey Institute for Social Justice; University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (Audit Committee and chair of the Diversity Committee); the New Jersey Public Policy Research Institute; and the Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University. Oliver holds a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in political science and a law degree from Rutgers University Law School.
